Cmos Battery

A CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor) battery is a small, round battery found on the motherboard of a computer. It provides power to the CMOS memory, which stores BIOS settings and system clock information even when the computer is turned off. The CMOS battery typically lasts for several years, but when it begins to fail, it can cause issues such as date and time resetting or BIOS configuration errors. Replacing the CMOS battery is a relatively simple process and can usually be done by removing the old battery and inserting a new one of the same type.
